Vail Resorts will be the first ski company in North America to require its workers to wear helmets when they’re skiing or riding on the job, starting next ski season.

In addition, all children 12 and under in the five resorts’ ski and ride schools also will be required to wear helmets.

Summer is right around the corner and there are a lot of things to do in Vail year round!

Vail Mountain will continue to operate more than 5,200 acres of skiable lift-served terrain and all on-mountain dining facilities through Sunday, April 12. The three main base area facilities – Vail Village, Lionshead and Golden Peak will remain open through Sunday, April 19. Operating hours will remain the same. Lifts will operate on Vail’s front side from 8:30 to 4 p.m. and the Back Bowls will continue to close at 3:30 p.m. and Blue Sky Basin will close at 3 p.m.
