Don’t miss the annual Gourment on Gore this weekend!

A Labor Day Weekend tradition continues this Saturday and Sunday as the Gourment on Gore event returns to Vail Village. Local restaurants will be serving small portions of some of their most popular dishes, and winemakers and sommeliers will be present to educate the crowd on how to pair their wines with the food from some of the best restaurants in Vail. Past events have featured food from amazing restaurants such as Larkspur and Wildflower, so expect the best!

The event begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, September 4 and 5, 2010. Don’t miss this one!

This weekend the stores of Vail Village will throw open their doors and throw their merchandise out on the street…….for sale, that is. Don’t miss out on the fun of this open-air event! The sale starts this Friday, August 13th, and continues through Sunday, August 15th.

Busy weekend ahead in Vail!

Wow, lots on the calendar this weekend in Vail! Come to the mountains this weekend to experience what two or three days here are like in the summer.

We start things off with the Vail Antique Festival, which takes place in Lionshead this Friday through Sunday.

Sunday morning you can cheer on the racers at the annual Vail Half Marathon, part of the Vail Recreation District’s La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Race Series. The runners start right behind The Galatyn Lodge at the Golden Peak base area, wind their way up the mountain over 14 miles, and cross the finish line at Eagle’s Nest, at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola.

After watching the runners start their grueling trip up the mountain, stroll into the center of Vail Village to experience one of Vail’s most popular events, the Vail Farmers’ Market. This weekly event is held every Sunday morning throughout the summer, and is recognized as the largest farmers’ market in the Colorado high country, if not the entire state!

Don’t forget to ask us about our complimentary ticket plans for the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival. Stay with us and get free tickets to the general admission lawn seating area at the Ford Amphitheater. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra just finished up their annual stop in Vail, and the Philadelphia Orchestra is in town this week. We close out the season with the New York Philharmonic in late July.

Winter Makes a Comeback!

Well, after a so-so start to our ski season and what seemed like the warmest and driest January in decades, winter made a big return to Vail about two weeks ago. Just in time for the President’s Day holiday weekend, the skies opened up and gave us powder day after powder day. Almost five feet of snow has fallen since February 11th, leaving Vail’s mid-mountain settled base at a very healthy 52″. With March historically being one of our snowiest months, it’s looking like what started out as a dismal snow year could turn into one of the most memorable in years! Will you be here to enjoy it?

Vail Snow Daze celebrates the start of the winter ski and snowboard season. The resort’s annual winter kick-off is scheduled for December 7-13, 2009. In addition to the Grammy-nominated Barenaked Ladies, Robert Randolph & The Family Band will also take the stage.
